Community & Charities

Nailsworth C of E Primary School are proud of the work we do within the local and wider community.

There are many aspects to our community and charity work:

  • Our School Council offers children a voice in many aspects of running the school;
  • Forest Green Rovers football club are our direct neighbours. We have school ambassadors who work closely with the team, plus the FGR Academy players have become mentors for our children;
  • Winslow House, a residential care home for the elderly that we visit regularly to sing, share cakes and have a chat with the residents;
  • Recycling with Riley was a great initiative we took part in throughout 2019 for recycling soft plastics working with a local plastics recycling company who turned our waste into a fantastic picnic table for us as you can see in the photo;

Other charities we have supported in the past few years:

Lions at Large 2025

We were lucky enough to be involved with the Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals Charity Lions at Large trail in 2025.

Lions at Large – The Pride of Gloucestershire Trail  ‘roared’ onto the streets of Cheltenham and Gloucester!

There are 32 large Lion sculptures, painted by local artists; celebrating Gloucestershire’s rich history, culture and diversity. They are joined by our Cub Club – a pride of 54 little Lions lovingly created by local schools and community groups.

We raised a fantastic £750 and our wonderful lion- Beau will be returning to school in the autumn.

More information about the trail can be found here
