NatWest money-sense workshop 3.2.20

The lovely people of NatWest have come in to talk to Year 1-6 about money!

The children have been given a budget and need to plan a birthday party, keeping within budget and making it as fun as possible!

What do we know about parties?

  • Food! Yum! ๐ŸŒญ๐Ÿ”๐ŸŸ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿง๐Ÿฅก
  • Themes! Climbing, bowling, unicorn, football, swimming, roller skating, and many many more! ๐Ÿคธ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŠ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ›น๐Ÿฆ„
  • Games and entertainment! Bouncy castle, magician, pass the parcel, musical chairs, watching films, piรฑata and many more! โšฝ๏ธโ›ธ๐ŸŽฎ๐ŸŽช

The plan

First, the children had to decide what was the most important thing to have at a party, going from most important to least important.

Then, the children were given a sheet with 4 children and they have to plan a party for 1 of them based on their brief.

Finally, they had a price list. They had to plan the ideal party within budget.

They had ยฃ200 to spend.

Some us realised, we couldn’t afford our dream party! So we had to make changes and compromise. We had to swap entertainers for DJs, large cake for small cake and soft play hire for a hall. Parties are very expensive!

Presenting our parties! ๐ŸŽˆ

Thank you to the lovely people at NatWest for a wonderful morning!
