A few weeks ago, Year 3 made the hour and a half coach journey to rural Wiltshire to visit some very special stones! That place was of course Stonehenge!
We had a fabulous time and it was great being able to see something that we had only looked at in pictures, in real life!
Our day was jam-packed, we walked around the museum answering questions, drawing artefacts and finding out awesome new facts!
Then we had some time looking at real-life Bronze Age houses. Many of the children have recreated miniatures of the houses for homework, so they were excited to really get a feel for Bronze Age life. Are they what you expected them to be like?
Then finally, the stones themselves! We caught the bus to the stones, we were able to see Bronze Age burial sites on the 5-minute journey. There we had a great time drawing and discussing the stones.
“They are much bigger than I thought they would be!” said one child
We all had a great day! We finished the day in style on our luxury coach, watching a film.
Year 3 were very well behaved and a credit to the school!
